My experiments with digital cameras - the digital photographs on this page were taken with an Olympus C1400L digital camera.
The Eiffel Tower, Paris
No set of Paris snapshots would be complete without the obligatory picture of the Eiffel Tower. This metal structure is some 324 metres tall and can be seen from all over the city.
A junk crossing Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong
This traditional Chinese Junk can still be seen sailing around Victoria Harbour from time to time.
A Star Ferry boat leaves Central, Hong Kong
A Star Ferry boat leaves Central, Hong Kong, to make the short crossing to Tsim Sha Tsui. A ferry service has been operating here since at least as long ago as 1888.
The Amah Rock, New Territories, Hong Kong
The Amah Rock stands above the entrance to the Lion Rock Tunnel, looking down the valley along the Shing Mun River to Tolo Harbour and the sea. According to local legend, a fisherman went to sea but did not return with the fleet. His wife waited patiently every day for him, but still he did not return. After a year, the gods took pity on the woman and turned her into stone.
The photographs on this page were taken with an Olympus C1400L digital camera. The photos were downloaded to a computer via the serial port with gPhoto which can download directly from the majority of digital cameras. The GIMP was used to resize and retouch the images.
